This summer, more than twenty children from YCIS Hong Kong joined in an extraordinary summer camp that combined sports competitions, robotic intelligence inspiration, and cultural immersion in YWIES Tongxiang. This seven-day camp was co-organized by Yew Chung Arts and Language Centre (YALC) and YWIES Tongxiang. The students showcased their vitality in swimming and basketball competitions, and transformed into inventors by delving into VEX robotics courses, sparking their innovative potential. During their cultural journey, they explored the ancient charm of Wuzhen and visited the Asian Games Exhibition Hall, broadening their horizons. This unforgettable and wonderful journey was not only filled with growth and memories but also enriched them with wisdom and experience.

This summer camp was led by an experienced and professional coaching team. Senior coaches from Spain and Hong Kong provided in-depth training and personalized guidance for the students. At the same time, teachers from our Tongxiang campus provided solid support with enthusiasm and professional expertise, ensuring that every student could immerse themselves in a learning environment that was challenging and full of opportunities, combining professionalism and care, and obtaining a unique and excellent learning experience.

Rising Sports Skills

Under the guidance of professional coaches, the students participated in intensive and systematic basketball and swimming training, effectively improving their basketball skills, while also refining their swimming posture and speed.

During the activities, the students enjoyed swimming in the pool, experiencing the coolness and joy, while also sweating on the energetic basketball court, showcasing their teamwork and individual style. 

The Challenge of VEX Logic Thinking

The students improved their STEM foundational knowledge, logic thinking, and programming skills in a fun learning environment by participating in VEX IQ and V5 VRC ROBOTICS beginner courses. By building robots, they tried to write programs and develop competition strategies in an interesting and positive way, while also cultivating critical thinking, collaboration, communication skills, and creativity.

In this process, the campers transformed into explorers of future technology, delving into the VEX robot course. With innovative thinking and excellent skills, they built their dream world of robots with their own hands. Every attempt and breakthrough was a vivid interpretation of wisdom and creativity.

Exploring Culture Through The Past and Present

In addition to sports and robotics courses, the summer camp also arranged a cultural exploration trip for the campers, taking them to the ancient town of Wuzhen to experience the unique charm. 

They also visited the Hangzhou Asian Games Exhibition Hall, getting up close to the glory and dreams of sports events, broadening their international horizons and inspiring infinite possibilities. 

Through the tour, the students were able to step out of the classroom, relax their bodies and minds, and visit Zhejiang's historical sites and cultural characteristics, including Wuzhen, West Lake, and the Asian Games Village.

Parents of Hong Kong‘s students gave high praise to the summer camp held at our Tongxiang campus. Whether it was the course arrangement, food quality, accommodation conditions, or the professionalism of the teachers, they all received unanimous praise from the parents. In particular, Jimmy, our Head of Residence Hall, impressed the parents with his meticulous care for the students. Parents believe that this summer camp was a valuable learning and communication opportunity, and they believe that their children will benefit greatly from it.

As the successful conclusion of the summer camp, it not only provided students with a fulfilling and unforgettable holiday but also injected new impetus into their growth and development. We look forward to next year's summer camp and continue to create more exciting and unique experiences!
